Hezbollah cells, infrastructure struck overnight by Israeli forces

As tensions with the Iran-backed terrorist organization Hezbollah rise, more activity occurred at Israel's northern border with Lebanon over the course of Sunday night.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) reported Monday morning that its forces had attacked four Hezbollah terrorist cells on the Lebanese border as well as some of the organization's infrastructure in Lebanon, including a military base and an observation post.

Recent days have seen an increase in border clashes between Israel and Lebanon as people worry that Israel's conflict with Hamas may expand to include a second front with Hezbollah.

Due to a "unpredictable security situation," the U.S. State Department advised Sunday night on X, formerly Twitter, that American citizens should immediately leave Lebanon.

Due to the erratic security situation, U.S. citizens should leave Lebanon immediately, according to the department's Bureau of Consular Affairs' post. "There are still commercial flights available, but there is reduced capacity."
